Combating Gender-Based Violence:

Every day, we’re rocked with a new, more devastating headline about another man who has abused his power to violate women’s most fundamental rights. These stories are finally bringing to light how pervasive sexual harassment and violence against women truly is. But there’s another side to this story, being written by men who refuse to stay silent and are taking action to chip away at this epidemic.

Justin Baldoni

Actor, Director & Co-Founder, Wayfarer Studios

Justin Baldoni is an actor, director, producer, and bestselling author focused on creating impactful, socially driven media through his co-founded studio, Wayfarer Studios. Known for starring in Jane the Virgin and directing the hit adaptation of It Ends with Us, he also produces films and documentaries and hosts The Man Enough Podcast, which examines modern masculinity.

Chid Liberty

Honoree, 2024

Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, Liberty & Justice

Chid Liberty is an award-winning social entrepreneur and impact investor who co-founded Africa’s first Fair Trade Certified apparel factory, Liberty & Justice, to empower displaced women in Liberia. After a career spanning entertainment, technology, and finance, he returned to Africa to drive economic opportunities in conflict-affected areas and has since served as an advisor and educator globally. Recognized by Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Chid has received numerous awards and is a Managing Partner at Liberty Friedman. He holds an MBA from the University of Oxford.

Secretary General, Inter-Parliamentary Union

Martin Chungong, the first African and non-European to be elected as Secretary General of the Inter- Parliamentary Union, has dedicated his professional life to promoting and strengthening democracy worldwide, and is globally recognised as a leader in fostering dialogue and conflict resolution, particularly in countries emerging from conflict or in transition, and in developing programmes that help parliaments become more gender-sensitive, transparent, accountable, representative, and effective democratic institutions.

Erfaan Hussein Babak

Honoree, 2024

Executive Director & Founder, The Awakening 

Erfaan Hussein Babak, a human rights advocate from Swat Valley, Pakistan, defied his conservative upbringing to champion women’s rights. Inspired by the violence his mother and sisters faced, he founded The Awakening in 2012 to challenge patriarchal norms and support survivors of abuse. Through Pakistan’s first Women Jirga, a 24/7 helpline, and the Dastageer Legal Aid Center, Erfaan provides critical support for women and involves men and boys in promoting gender equality.
