Vital Voices Global Partnership and Bumble Inc., the parent company of Bumble, Badoo, Fruitz and Official, are proud to share the work of Bumble’s Next Movers: emerging women in leadership at organizations paving the way for equity and empowerment. Announced on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2023, these Next Movers are a group of eight innovative, international women leaders who are pushing boundaries, changing the world, and building a better tomorrow. In addition to financial support, the leaders are participating in the inaugural Next Movers program that kicked off in mid-June. Some of the participants shared what they were most looking forward to.
Through Bumble’s Next Movers program, participants are receiving tailored training on a myriad of topics, in addition to investment in their leadership growth. During the first week of the program, the Next Movers participated in community-building and communications strategy sessions. The first session opened with amazing energy as the leaders reflected on when they felt most courageous. Reflecting on the initial session, Bumble’s Director of Social Impact and Sustainability, Heather Venard, shared, “From this very first session, it’s already clear that the Next Movers have so much to share with and learn from each other. Forming connections across global perspectives multiplies the impact of this program, empowering leaders to unleash the true power that emerges from discovering common ground and engaging in a dynamic exchange of diverse viewpoints.” The Next Movers leaders are based in eight countries and can now support each other in their professional endeavors.
Following the community building session, the participants engaged in a communications strategy training. These leaders were equipped with tools to effectively identify and address communication challenges and understand the impact and role of one’s personal narrative.
These sessions are just the beginning of the journey for the Next Movers. In the following months, we will host conversations about public speaking, social media best practices, fundraising, and wellness, all of which are essential to their day-to-day work.
The Next Movers’ work delves into various issues, including women’s economic empowerment, reproductive rights, social justice, LGBTQ+ issues, and increasing literacy rates.
