About Nazma
Nazma is the owner of Craftvill, a jute-based handicraft company that makes environmentally-friendly jute bags, handicrafts and other natural products. Cratfvill produces affordable and high end bags, wine bags, beach and tote bags, party bags and everyday use bags. They also make jute gift items such as notebooks, file folders, office stationery and other home products such as baskets, rugs, table mats, tissue boxes and wall hangings. Craftvill sells their products in Bangladesh and also exports through third party venders and are looking for direct buyers for export. The company currently exports to the UK and Canada. Nazma works to provide opportunities for her community by hiring men and women with low-skills and low-income as employees and provides training in partnership with other organizations that are experts in jute. She additionally aims to incorporate women at every stage in her products value chain in order to provide economic opportunities for them. Craftvill helps to improve the environment by providing a sustainable alternative to plastic. Nazma is the Secretary of the Women Entrepreneur Association of Bangladesh and working for women empowerment. Nazma is a member of Crans Montana Forum, mentee at Cherie Blair Foundation. Nazma is also connected with She Trades Commonwealth and WEConnect International. Nazma holds an MBA Marketing from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and specializes in marketing, communication, and business management.
What Nazma hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship:
Nazma is excited about participating in a holistic business training while also working on developing herself as a leader. She is looking forward to building her network and learning about business opportunities in other countries from other fellows and establishing exporting opportunities.
