Gauri Gopal

Gauri (Gopal) Malik is the founder of the Skilled Samaritan Foundation (SSF) and Sirohi, an SSF brand. Sirohi is a sustainable luxury brand that fuses modern design with traditional skills to handcraft home and lifestyle products. The brand provides gainful employment and financial independence to village housewives.

Gauri is a finance and economics graduate from the Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom. She began her career as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank before founding SSF. Her vision is to build a micro-entrepreneurship platform to provide design support and market access to women skilled in crafts and establish Sirohi as a global home and lifestyle brand.

She is a multi-award winner for her work at the grassroots level and has been awarded the UN Women Generation Equality Award, British Council’s UK Alumni Award, Face of Meta’s Fuel of India campaign 2021, and Ficci-Flo Uttar Pradesh, where her enterprise has been funded under the SFURTI scheme of the Ministry of Handicrafts and Textiles. Through her social enterprises, she has worked with large retail partners including WeWork, Facebook, and Uniqlo to create income opportunities for thousands of women from Western Uttar Pradesh.
