Voices of Resilience: A Conversation with Takia Ross
April 2020 – VV GROW Fellow and the founder, CEO and lead make-up artist at Accessmatized – a makeup artistry company based in Baltimore, Maryland that provides services via both her studio and mobile studio, the Pretty Mobile. Takia joined Voices of Resilience to talk about how, after the VV GROW fellowship, she’s diversified and created her first product line: a makeup line – which is now the way her business is surviving the uncertainty.
Considering the bulk of her business is in personal makeup application, Takia quickly pivoted her strategy to keep Accesmatized running. Accessmatized is continuing to innovate despite COVID-19 and Takia is harnessing her power to support and advocate for small businesses in her community, helping them to navigate coronavirus-related legislative changes and government resources.
Takia discussed the resources available for small businesses in the United States, and the gaps in legislation that don’t account for businesses that have 1-2 employees. Tune in to hear guidance and smart information for business to move forward!
