Helah Robinson

Program Assistant, Africa

Helah Robinson is the Africa Program Assistant, joining the Vital Voices team in October 2009. In her position, Helah works closely with the Africa Program Director and Global Grants Manager, providing programmatic, logistic and development support for Vital Voices programs in the U.S. and abroad. A recent graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, she earned a B.S. in Foreign Service, majoring in international politics with a concentration in international institutions, ethics, and law, and also completed a Certificate of International Development.

Before joining staff at Vital Voices, Helah interned for the Senate Immigration Subcommittee in the Office of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, with the Women’s Foreign Policy Group and for Vital Voices’ Global Grants Department. In 2008, she worked as a Leadership Facilitator for the Middle East Partnership Initiative’s Youth Summer Leadership Initiative and volunteered with a community-based human rights organization during her semester abroad in Dakar, Senegal. Helah also served as a 2009 Advocacy Project Peace Fellow in Cameroon where she provided communication and grant seeking support for local women’s rights organizations, and conducted informational trainings for key stakeholders in both regions.
