Ann Hoffman joined Vital Voices in March 2009 as Web Content and Communications Manager for the Middle East North Africa Businesswomen’s Network (MENA BWN), and then moved on to the role of Director of Online Communications. In this capacity she is responsible for the overall growth and strategic direction of Vital Voices' online presence, including managing a multi-phased Web site redesign and development effort to begin in the spring of 2010.

Ann began her nonprofit career 19 years ago at the Middle East Research and Information Project (publisher of Middle East Report) after studying abroad and traveling through Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco. That led to five years at the New Israel Fund, where she managed public education programs on democracy, social justice and civil and human rights.

After building expertise in all areas of program management, institutional development and communications, Ann took a career left turn at the Prevent Cancer Foundation and jumped on the new media marketing bandwagon. She led the Foundation’s online communications and fundraising programs into the 21st century, managing a newly redesigned Web site, and launching successful campaigns as diverse as I’ll Raise You a Million, with World Series of Poker celebrities, and Where in the World is Prostate Pete?, a multi-channel e-mail marketing campaign targeting men in their 40s and 50s.

Ann holds a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Geneseo.
