Since 2006, Vital Voices has partnered annually with the U.S. State Department and FORTUNE Magazine to provide international emerging women leaders in business the opportunity to develop their leadership, management and business skills through the FORTUNE/State Department Global Women Leaders Mentoring Partnership. This unique program combines the study of U.S. business culture with a working mentorship program that enables emerging women business leaders across the globe to spend a month in the U.S. to enhance their management and business skills. In partnership with members from its Global Leadership Network, Vital Voices coordinates a series of mentoring walks each year in several countries across the globe. In collaboration with the State Department’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), Vital Voices has created the Middle East & North Africa Businesswomen’s Network, known as the MENA Businesswomen’s network. Vital Voices is developing a series of programs and resources in 12 Middle Eastern countries. The network’s goal is to increase the number of women in business and the value of their businesses, to advance the role of women in society, and to promote a regional culture of women's entrepreneurship. The Africa Businesswomen's Network (ABWN) is a partnership between local businesswomen's organizations throughout Africa, Vital Voices Global Partnership and ExxonMobil Foundation. The goal of the ABWN is to build and support a network of businesswomen’s organizations in Africa in order to expand the number of women succeeding as entrepreneurs and leaders in the corporate world; to raise the profile and credibility of women in business; to foster global networking opportunities among businesswomen; and to advocate for policies that expand economic opportunity for women.
