New Law Establishing Protections for Women’s Reproductive Health Rights Passed in the Philippines.
The Responsible Parenthood, Reproductive Health and Population Act, a new law which establishes protections for women’s reproductive rights in the Philippines was passed yesterday by the local government. This law will eradicate several of women’s longstanding barriers to access to sexual and reproductive health care in the Philippines, such as access to contraceptions and reproductive health education. The law will require non-sectarian schools to give sexual education to students of a reproductive age and further mandates the Department of Health to provide reproductive health care services and supplies.
