ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative
We challenge YOU to make your own first ripple.

The ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative is a groundbreaking partnership with ANN INC., parent company of Ann Taylor and LOFT. We are working together to empower young women from across the U.S. to affect global progress, invest in their communities and be inspired by the work of the women in Vital Voices' Global Leadership Network.
At the 10th Annual Global Leadership Awards, we challenged 500 young women in the audience to take the inspiration and energy from that evening and — in their own way, within their local communities — pay it forward. Since then, young women from across the U.S. have submitted their proposals for how they want to see change in their communities and around the world. We selected 10 projects that are now being implemented by young women across the country, who have taken the first step in their journeys as the next generation of global trailblazers.
We are selecting 50 rising high school juniors and seniors to become 2012 ANNpower Fellows. ANNpower Fellows are committed to creating positive and sustainable change in their communities and across the globe. Fellows will join their peers at the ANNpower Vital Voices Leadership Forum, where they will be provided with the skills, training and mentorship they need to realize their full leadership potential. The ANNpower Vital Voices Leadership Forum is a three-day leadership training in Washington, D.C. from June 4-6, 2012.
Additionally, Fellows will meet Kay Krill, the CEO of ANN INC., and other women leaders from the U.S. and around the world. They will have the chance to attend the 2012 Vital Voices Annual Global Leadership Awards at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Annual Awards event is thought to be one of the most inspirational events of the year in Washington, D.C., as it spotlights the work of some of the most influential women in the world.
After completing the leadership training program, ANNpower Fellows will be charged with going back to their communities and implementing their ideas. Fellows will also be eligible to win project grants that will help put their ideas into action.
